"Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul.”
C.G. Jung
I am a qualified Integrative counsellor, meaning I have been trained in a number of different modalities and theories, including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT.) In line with my philosophy that every individual is unique and no single approach to therapy can address the emotional and psychological needs of all people, I blend skills and techniques from different modalities together, tailoring an approach that is best suited to each client's individual needs.
My Integrated approach facilitates an exploration of both past and present experiences and issues, and their impact on a person’s current emotional well-being, whilst enabling us to identify and nurture personal strengths and implement positive future goals, with the aim of creating a more personally satisfying life.
Central to my work is my emphasis on working relationally, as I believe it is the relationship that develops between Counsellor and Client that holds the key to successful therapeutic change and healing.
Alongside my private practice where I counsel people of all ages, I also work as an in-school Counsellor and as a therapist in a voluntary sector agency in Newbury, with Young Adults and Children, aged 11 - 25 years. I also counsel parents, helping them with particular parenting challenges.
If you have any questions about my qualifications or training, please do ask.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you, and whether I am the right therapist to help.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential, using secure phone and email services.
